I will try and attach the error display again. I still was not able to eliminate the photos from the iCloud folder.

I have even tried to install iCloud for the administrator. Apple verified that the number of photos on their servers matches what I see on. This tells me that the issue is with the left over photos still in the cloud somewhere. When I delete the new photos, either on or on my iPad or on Windows iCloud Photos folder, they are deleted as expected on all the other devices. When I place new photos in the iCloud folder, they sync and show up in and on my iPad. I can confirm that iCloud sync is working for all new photos placed in the iCloud Photos\Photos folder.
The photos that are in iCloud (that I"m having issues with) are not stored on the OneDrive. And I have been working on this for a while and been on the phone with Apple support for about a hour and they verified that all looks good on their end. Just know that I have good knowledge of Windows. In the interest of time, I won't describe why I say this. I believe I can rule out most (if not all) if the causes described in the articles. When I opened the thumbnails with Windows Photos, the photo was downloaded and a full resolution image is displayed. The status symbol was the cloud, indicating the file was still available to download. When I browsed to the iCloud Photos folder, thumbnails for ALL of the photos I had on iCloud, even the ones I supposedly deleted, were repopulated into Windows Explorer. When it rebooted, I then opened iCloud Settings and re-enabled Photos. Of course, any remaining photos in would still be there. At the Turn off iCloud Photos pop-up I selected Delete from PC. So I deselected the checkbox for Photos in iCloud for Windows settings, then hit Apply.
This is the first indication something was wrong. This is what I was expecting.īut there were a few of the deleted photos that remained on the PC.

As I watched the folder on my Windows PC many of the icons and files disappeared from my Windows PC.
